If you love breath taking scenic hikes then you must try Cathedral Rock. Located south of Sedona, It is one of the most photographed sites in Arizona and with good reason. The entire hike consists of open wide space giving you everlasting views of the valley with every step you take. But it doesn’t stop there. If you manage to make it to the top where the saddle points are you can catch panoramic views of the valley. Words just cannot describe the breathtaking scenery from this point and the peaceful tranquility one can experience at the same time.

Cathedral Rock is definitely a place you’ll want to take your time with. You’ll find yourself turning around many times throughout this hike to catch the wide open scenery here. With only 1.5 miles one way and 680 feet of elevation gain, there is plenty to see and appreciate at Cathedral Rock.

Trails here range from moderate to difficult mostly because of the steep inclines and rock formations you will have to scale up with your hands and feet from time to time. But don’t worry too much. You’ll find plenty of steps that have been carved into the rock formations over time by many previous hikers. Trails are well marked by cairns so you won’t have to worry about getting lost.
